I feel like I'm being forced to stay alive - even if something bad happens to me like paralysis or cancer I cannot go to a doctor and ask for Euthanasia because it is illegal in the U.S. (except for Oregon - but those are for very serious cases).
Why do religious people (want to) take away my right to die peacefully in a hospital bed if (when) I am suffering physically/mentally even though I dont (and never will) believe in god, jesus, mohammed, or an afterlife.
I don't understand it at all - if I want to die I should have the right to die painlessly but the government (American Theocracy) will restrict Doctors in my effort to die painlessly causing me to instead commit suicide like a criminal in a motel room with a shot gun - a bloody mess.
I dont understand this at all. So why does the government and religious institutions (Christians) get involved into other peoples personal interest in wanting to die? - especially with those people who are not religious at all...

Is it not inhumane to keep a suffering being alive and suffering? If I was paralyzed, even if I didnt feel any physical pain, I'd be mentally suffering. Doesnt that entail me to some sort of Euthanasia? Again Im not religious at all - so shouldn't I be allowed to die painlessly?

You should be able to die, and you should be able to do whatever drugs you want to, but they can't handle that either. My only theory is it's them forcing their beliefs on people, or they can't stand to lose any more taxpayers...

Killing is against man's law and God's law. I think doctors have to take an oath saying they will "do no harm". If they help you, they are violating the oath and can lose their license. Let your family and friends know your wishes. Put it in writing. If you plan ahead, no one can "force" you to stay alive. You need an "Advance Directive" form filled out. Don't blame religious people. They're taking into consideration that a person may change their mind about dying and not be able to speak or communicate at all. This is such a dicy issue. Already, there have been cases of "goodhearted" nurses putting people out of their misery with an injection of something. Look how the abortion thing got out of control. In the beginning, it was supposed to be for people who got raped or the mother's life was in danger. Now it's a common form of birth control. Fourteen year olds are getting pregnant to show their friends they are "cool" knowing they can get an abortion, which makes them yet "cooler". Where does it end?
I just want to add something to this. After sleeping on it, I just want to say that we have to understand that there is a difference between letting a person die naturally and killing. Unplugging someone who is brain dead and being kept "alive" by a breathing machine is not murder. It's just allowing them to die. On the other hand, injecting someone with a lethal substance is murder. Just my opinion. I know some of my fellow Christians disagree. Things were simpler in the old days before we had all this technology.

One way to get around this is to have a living will. You can decide weather or not you want to have medical treatment in various circumstances. If you are worried about family members (or well meaning, but meddling "religious" folk), It's pretty hard to challenge a living will in the courts. Judges are loathe to interfere with someone's last wishes. A living will would've helped in the whole Terri Schiavo situation.
Dying is a personal experience for everyone, and you should be able to die with dignity if that is your choice. I think what everyone fears is that somehow it's going to be forced on people who can't or won't consent.

Because Adolph Hitler began using Euthanasia to put down the mentaly infirm ,the insane, and those that were considered a burden on society. Every time Euthanasia is allowed it gets way out of control. I think we all know the extreme that Hitler took it too. The fact is that the human race ALWAYS has taken things to the next level until the society involved collapses. Rome,Greece,Egypt, & even most of Royal Europe.

It's real simple.
They want you to suffer excruciating pain while they hover over you and wait for you to submit...out of either fear or delerium to their demands that you convert.
It is all ego ....and not the ego of the suffering person.
It is the ego of the proselytizer.
Real simple.
They think they are making "brownie points" with god.
They thinking they are have been blessed and annointed and dreaming about the teleministry they are going to start.
Born agains are even worse.
Born agains have tons of baggage.
After entire lifetimes of drinking, drugging, whoring, robbing, lies, violence and mayhem they think they are in position to minister unto people ten seconds after "being born again" and "again" and "again". Their faith is so strong they just keep on backsliding. They don't know what they are.First they need to minister unto themselves and bring their egos down to size.
Christians love suffering. Particularly somebody elses.
That is what Chiristianity is all about.

KILLING SICK PEOPLE.
That is what you are asking us to condone. To stand back and allow another business of medically-induced death to spring up in our nation. The hero of the business, "Dr. Death" (Jack Kevorkian) has admitted this in interviews. He wants to NOT ONLY make medically-induced suicide legal in the USA, he wants to see ORBITUMS set up in every city, where people can go and commit suicide if they really feel the need! He is to "euthansia" what the NRA is to abortion clinics.

6. Clinics advertising doctor-assisted "death therapy" for people of all ages. The clinic comes complete with a will-writing attorney, legal documents, waivers, funeral hall, coffin selection, etc. The works. Leads to...
7. DEATH BEING A VERY PROFITABLE BUSINESS for the doctors and the lawyers practicing it.
We have laws regulating business in this country, except for two: Pornography (unless the victims are children) and Abortion. Pornographers claim exemption under "freedom of expression", and Abortionists claim exemption under "freedom of privacy". Euthanasianists simply want to create another business of KILLING PEOPLE, and protect it from regulation by claiming the freedoms of "religion", "expression", and "privacy". Meanwhile, the "physicians" who are killing the sick get verrrrrrrrry rich doing it, because to regulate it would be to "block constitutional rights".

It co-opts their god's "right" to determine a person's fate. Personally, if I ever become so debilitated or in never-ending pain and chose to die, I would cordially invite those who would prevent me to join me. And try to make it possible.

I see your point... but why on earth do you want to die, and you don't believe in God!??
There are alternatives for suicide as a paralytic. I can't imagine the suffering you are probably going through, as I fear that myself, but suicide will gain you nothing. God has a plan for your life, or had. But For us, we believe that the suffering is a way to somehow bring God glory, when it's time to go, it's time to go.
For you, we do not want you to suffer a much more painful eternity.

non-life>life to you? non-life>yet another day of existence to you? human beings combat it too cuz previous human beings get scammed with the help of their kin and nursing residences. They trick them into signing records and kill them with morphine. Hospice discretely grants deadly morphine to the relatives that have a burdensome guy or woman. it fairly is the untalked approximately secret sin. Morality is valueing of human existence exceptionally. life>non-life. life with discomfort>non-life. How is discomfort measured? Who degree discomfort and be certain: "it fairly is too painful to stay, I might desire to die."? Do you identify? previous human beings be certain? depressed sixteen 365 days olds be certain? mid-existence disaster 50 365 days previous be certain? somebody with toe maximum cancers be certain? Who can degree such issues?
