I'd really like feedback on it. My first macro picture.

This is a nice picture. But it can become great if you take care of a few details.

The flower is in focus, depth of field is right. But a small portion of leaf is visible in the stem at the bottom which looks dark. It is distracting and doesn't add any value to your picture. So if you recompose your picture to crop this dark leaf from the bottom then the picture will appear better.

At the back there is another stem having some flowers which are mostly hidden and out of focus. If that stem would not have been there, then your entire picture would have been in focus. This second stem and flowers at the right of the picture is again distracting. While shooting you can gently tie-up this stem so that it is not visible in your picture. Understand, our eyes have a habit of wandering away. So if this flowers at the back are not visible, then one will only look at the flowers which are focused. That will enhance your picture.

Also, you can gently put a few drops of water through a dropper in the flowers. It will appear as dew. That can improve your picture further.

Before you click, survey the scene again and then press the shutter.

You have made a good start. Remember these few points while shooting, and you will get some fabulous results.

WOW! Have you been into photography for a while, or did you just start?

Personally I love that shot and have to disagree with Wild tiger (to each his/her own :) no offence kay!).
I think that the stems, leaves and blurred out flowers in the background add alot more to it. It does not really make the eyes wander since the flowers stand out so well already. They also make the flowers seem much more natural, even though it was not shot in a nature setting.

The white wall also adds to it by making the colour of the flowers stand out better, it would also look nice to see it on a plain black background as well, provided the lighting is kept the same.

The subject is very well portrayed. In that cluster of flowers, you get to see many different angles of it and give it more detail.

Anyway, keep up the great work, I'm sure we all would like to see more of your pictures (flickr account?) and try out more angles of the flowers and other subjects you take in the future as well.
If you don't have a flickr account, you can still drop in to look at other user's pictures, it's a great place to learn and share.

Hope the opinions help, keep up the good work :)

picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.

It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.
