Besides second hand smoke, and genetic mutation in a specific gene. I am not sure anyone knows any other reason. Sad huh?

I do believe that the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer is the presence of radon in our homes and buildings. Radon is an odorless colorless gas that is emitted from the earth. Some areas of the country have a stronger concentration of it than others. Find out the radon content in your home. You can get a kit at your local hardware store.

second hand smoke, working in factories or a profession where there's a lot of smoke (mining, chemistry lab), carcinogens, chemicals, or a city where they burn lots of fossil fuel
