If you read the mission of the Marine Corps, it states
" Provide Marine Forces for airborne operations, in coordination with the Army, Navy, and Air Force, according to the doctrine established by the Joint Chiefs of Staff"
as well as
"Develop in coordination with the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the doctrine, procedures, and equipment for airborne operations."
So, while it does not have a paratrooper unit, all marines could be utilized as paratroops, if the situation dictated. Airborne operations not only consist of helicopter deployed troops, but also jump qualified troops as well.
Most jump qualified Marines go through the Army's airborne school to qualify for their jump wings.
You have to remember that the Marine Corps is part of the Navy Department, so the Marine Corps trains whenever, wherever, however in all climates and places. The Marine Corps gets their training budget from the Navy Department, so they have to get the best training for their dollar. You wouldn't want to get your training to jump out of a perfectly good airplane from the Navy, would you? Or, you wouldn't want to get trained to deploy from a submerged submarine from the Army, either.
How they get there is up to the President and the situation.

There are no active Marine Corps paratroop units. Only time the Corps flirted with this was early phases of WWII, with a paratroop battalion. There are numerous USMC units that have parachuting as a required skill set (reconnaissance units, air delivery units, Air-Naval Gunfire Liaison units) but there is not standing unit in the Marine Corps that would be considered "paratroops" or airborne, like the US Army's 82dABN Div at Bragg.
Once you land, you're traveling in leather cadillacs, so jumping is only so cool.
Hope this helps.

The Marines do not utilize paratroopers (I.E.-82nd airborne), although there are jump qualified Marines. The majority of jump qualified Marines are Marine Recon special forces. They will be jump, as well as dive qualified, and their training is similar to that received by the Navy SEALs and Air Force Para-Rescue (PJs)

united statesmilitary Airborne Infantry is definately the thank you to circulate. i'm a Ranger hopeful too. Airborne is definately knowledgeable greater appropriate then the conventional Marine. military is the only branch with Airborne Infantry and that's smaller then maximum folk think of, so that's incredibly prestegious and you definately have a great style of delight and esprit de corps as a paratrooper. I personaly love the quote "we are Airborne, we are meant to be surrounded". You leap out of plains at the back of enemy traces and **** the enemies day up. Rangers are between the main elite Spec Ops contained in the international, even with what human beings ought to tell you. Rangers are elite Spec Ops/gentle Infantry instruments. They do the two varieties of missions. they are in a position to be covertly inserted by Sea, Air, or Land and finished their project devoid of every physique even understanding they have been there, or they could attack a heavily deffended area head on jointly as incredibaly outnumbered and take the area. Theres over 2,500 SEALs at present serving contained in the U.S. and merely below 3,000 Rangers, this does not incorporate Ranger qualified personel. they are no longer Rangers they are purely Ranger qualified. maximum of folk prefer to be Rangers so no you will argue that "they are no longer that elite, merely no person desires to be a Ranger". it incredibly is B.S. as properly, the Marines deceive you. Marines have in no way been first in or final out of any conflict, that's in many cases been the army. look it up in case you have not got faith me. military particular Forces have been deployed to Vietnam 2 years in the previous the Marines. they say each and every Marine is a rifleman that's real, yet so is each and every soldier. you're able to qualify with your rifle each and every 6 months contained in the army. they say Marine Corps Boot Camp is longer and harder then the Armys, that isn't real. military Infantry MOS' visit uncomplicated for sixteen weeks while in comparison with the Marines 12, and the army focuses greater on wrestle education. the army is the U.S. significant wrestle stress, why does no longer we get greater appropriate education? What ever you elect for, good success and thank you on your provider.

I do not believe that there are any dedicated "Para-Marine" units ( a WWII media term that the Corps did not use) active at present.
There are many parachute qualified members of the Marine Corps. They are in Force Recon & ANGLICO units, but these are not exclusively airborne in their mission.
