Why would someone write such an awful thing? What did Steve Irwin do to bring the wrath of the Lord down on him?
I can see no reason why this gentle man who wanted nothing but to help the environment and for us all to understand animals better had to die at such a young age.
Especially when there are rapist, child killers, theives and murderers sitting on death row or better yet walking around doing their evil deeds be left alive.
How can someone make such a callus statement about someone they didn't even know on a personal level. Nothing he ever did seemed to me to warrant this kind of judgement.
Your thoughts on the statement?

I wasn't trying to acknowledge the stupid remark, simply wondered why people can be so mean.
To some of you that told me to ignore remarks like that and maybe they would go away...........well they won't go away and even on this site, Religion & Spirituality, people say awful and stupid things about the different religions and beliefs that each of us have and yet I don't see anyone saying we should all ignore or not respond to those. I have seen plenty of questions that people ask and there are lots of other people answering those stupid questions.
I was sadden by his death and simply asked why a remark like that would be made.

Good people are admired for what they are. That makes people jealous who have no purpose in life. Jealousy is an emotion that leads people to distort the truth more than any other. Even God and religion will be twisted when people have envy in their heart.

It's not that the ill-wishers have no opportunity to be good people themselves. They are lazy, and choose not to.

Well, he was doing this in the process of making a series called Ocean's Deadliest Predators - certainly showed that they are. Perhaps they should televise what they have of the series as planned - reality TV at it best - in the right spirit of course, and as a credit to Steve and all he did.

Don't know to what extent this may be true, but I am imagining some sort of meeting when they were planning this where Crocodile Donedied says something of the sort "Yeah, Stingrays can be dangerous, but the last time one actually killed a person was about 60 years ago..."

I don't know and I am just being funny about the name - maybe he would even appreciate the humor. People awlays say how much of a tragedy this is and gasp or pretend to when they see the footage, but just like the Kennedy hit - alot of sickos will be "digging" it and playing it time & time again ;)

2 things I always like to say:

No person is guaranteed tomorrow.

Everyone wants to win the Powerball drawing, but no one wants _____________.

in the space, place the tragedy of your choice which is just about as unlikely.

But no - I highly doubt religion has anything to do with it.

Why would someone write such a terrible thing? Because for every decent person out there, there are about 1/2 a dozen idiots who can't tell their rear end from a hole in the ground. If all of us sane, normal people would simply ignore jerks who make comments like that one, they'd get bored from getting no response, and hopefully drop off the face of the earth. Don't even respond to them, they are a waste of time. Steve Irwin was a great guy who loved his family and his work.

Should Jesus punish someone who works for the betterment of Flora and Fauna, which is being destroyed by the very beings that Jesus has supposedly died for, then Jesus won't be Jesus at all.

People who write such ugly statements are themselves full of Anger, Hatred and Resentment. They are either 8 years old with bad examples set by parents who think that rubbing salt into the grief of others is funny or an Adult with a brain of an 8 year old raised in a remote cave somewhere in the atlantic.

Most of all, I think they are Jealous... coz its the only way to comfort themselves from the fact that God bestowed Fame, Family and Fortune to someone whom they view as a "sinner", but they themselves are living in grime and poverty, not getting what they want and receiving only what they hate... coz they feel they are more deserving of what the sinners have been bestowed

Jealousy, Envy and Vanity.... what a wonderful combination to hide under the Mask of Christianity... where True christianity doesn't hide behind hate but reveals the truth via love

Because some people who embrace Christianity are extremely black and white. They somehow miss how Christ loved everyone including groups the Jews would not even associate with such as the Samaritans and good people with sin in their life. They also miss the fact that God alone reserves the right to be the Judge and the Jury and did not call any of us to that task. Judging is repeatedly warned against in the scriptures. These people literally need help understanding the "whole" picture of Christ's life rather than learning a scripture here and there and judging. Sadly, they have no clue how much damage they do to taking the name of Christ upon oneself.

Some people have ideas of God that are very wharped, and this is just one example. Steve Irwin died in a freak incident. What does God have to do with the mind and survival instinct of a stingray? The best approach is to ignore this kind of idiocy and know that there are plenty of Christians who feel only sadness and compassion for the Irwin family's loss.

God did not punish Steve, they said that he was swimming and swam over the stingray,i don't think he knew he was there and it raised up out of the sand and its tail stuck him in the heart,if any thing God wanted him with him,he had finished what he had for him to do here and he has done a lot,so no God didn't punish him

God had nothing to do with Steve Irwin dieing - but from what I hear a sting ray may have. I just love it when those people associate bad things with God - God has NO evil - Satan is evil - Not God.

I think that whoever wrote that was just trying to instigate some fury and he did. He just wanted to see what people would say and even if he truly meant it, he's just a sad waste of humanity. I do agree with you when it comes to Steve. He was one of my favorite adventurers. I am going to miss him and so are a lot other people out there. He made his mark and his job was done.

Some people speak out of ignorance....they speak about things they do not fully understand.....What happened to Steve Irwin was a terrible accident....I do not believe that he was punished by Jesus....I believe the person who said this on AOL was just trying to get a ''rise'' out of those who were discussing this....
