God doesn't care about money, it's the church that wants your money. The woman was being a pain, whats wrong with making change from the offering. She just wanted that person to put all their money in so she wouldn't have to put anything.

Personally, I think it is kind of tacky to make change out of an offering basket, but it isn't a sin. I agree, all we have, and we ourselves, belong to God.
Funny thing is, I notice when Jesus passed a plate or a basket, it had stuff in it for people to TAKE OUT. Usually food!
Why not emulate that once in a while? It would certainly make a church experience more interesting!
Just think: Church becomes a place where you are guaranteed a meal and a nice place to take your family at least once a week. The kids can play with people their own age, there is nice music, and several people are there to tell you how much God really loves you.
Wouldn't that be great?

I've seen this before myself, and I can see the parishioner's point in that they may want to give, say, $10 but only have a $20 bill on them. The problem is that there must not be an appearance of impropriety in a worship service. Offering plates are not controlled well enough to allow for this to happen without some kind of an accusation eventually being made.

God Bless You is a prayer for somebody's well being and wellness. the different word is, nicely, decidedly not! "Vengeance is mine," says the Lord! Christians do not choose that any be damned. however the word is often not used as a prayer for somebody's damnation. it rather is often used as an vile oath. it rather is a contravention of the third Commandment, which says, "those shalt not take the call of the Lord thy God in ineffective: for the Lord won't carry him guiltless that taketh his call in ineffective." Following is an excerpt from the Shorter Catechism of the Westminster Confession: Q. fifty 4. what's needed interior the 0.33 commandment? A. The 0.33 commandment requireth the holy and reverent use of God's names, titles, attributes, ordinances, word and works. Q. fifty 5. what's forbidden interior the 0.33 commandment? A. The 0.33 commandment forbiddeth all profaning or abusing of something wherein God maketh himself regularly occurring. Q. fifty six. what's the rationalization annexed to the 0.33 commandment? A. the rationalization annexed to the 0.33 commandment is that although the breakers of this commandment might get away punishment from adult males, however the Lord our God won't go through them to flee his righteous judgment.

I don't buy into the God's money thing, but it really is pretty classless to make change in the collection plate. How hard is it to make sure you have the correct change before you get to church?

the offerings come from our heart and god knows our intentions pure/evil, so the lady is over reacting and the bible nowhere says once the money goes into the plate it's gods. i agree with you, all material are things god allows us to have and all money belongs to him as does the material things.

Aside from who the money really "belongs" to...making change in an offering basket is just plain T-A-C-K-Y!
