Several already mentioned are great. Truluck's, Papa's but don't forget Shoreline Grille and Eddie V's Edgewater grill, McCormick & Schmick's, & Roy's. All are great!

Seafoods great buddy. You have created a mental picture that any seafood from the sea stinks and Iam guessing you hate the sea as well? lol. Well dude, seafood is not that bad if you live in a tropical country like me reason being, our diet contains seafood and we are surrounded by the sea so you really do not have an option. But what matters most is how you cook your seafood, Prawns taste awesum if you either grill em, stir fry or even bake em in some cheesy method BUT like i said it all depends on how you cook them and which seafood it is. You should try it out in some good restraunt, maybe you'll like it

There are several branches of chain/franchise seafood restaurants in Austin: Trulucks, Joes, Papadeauxs, Razzoos. They all have their good and bad points. Trulucks is a very expensive. Papadeauxs and Razzoos are cajun.
I have yet to find a local place for seafood that really stands out.

I think Papadeux (don't know how to spell) is pretty good, it is a little high priced though.
