Friends show respect for the beliefs of there Friends. He is not being a Friend he is getting off on feeling smugly superior to you. He is not really a christian, If he was he would show you how to be a christian and if he was acting like a good christian you would want what he has. Good Christians preach with there lives and there actions that makes them fishers of men.
Tell him to show respect for you and to stop treating you as an inferior.

Tell that them you are not interested and you do NOT have to justify your reasons. They will only argue with you.

Imagine walking along and meeting a Jehovah's Witness who insists that he is right. And then you meet another fanatic, from a different church who dismisses the JWs and insists that his church is the only right one. And then, you meet somebody else with their own set of brainwashed arguments.

The best strategy is to be firm. If this person is your friend, he or she will respect you. If they don't then that is too bad, but don't compromise for their sake.

I had one great aunt who was Pentecostal, and another who was Jehovah's Witness. Ask me if it was fun being around either of them. The JW & her children eventually split away from the family because we wouldn't convert. The Pentecostal woman met a terrible fate. She was in a car accident on an icy road and a big truck collided and it actually took the roof off of her car, and she was crushed. Where was God to help her?

So just be firm (but be polite), and stand your ground.

you should really shout or kick him in the face.. anyway you want..

people have no right to try to get you to convert... never convert or be forced to do anything because of peer pressure.. Peer pressure nvr got anyone anywhere...

BTW, is the guy muslim? Cause I am, and its sinful to go around trying to get people to convert. I'll gladly beat him up for you if you want to? hmm? =)

i wouldn't reject the friend. if you tell him/her politely that you are not interested but if you in the future decide to consider converting tell them that you'll ask them when you are ready,at least just to be polite even if you have no notion of doing so. if the friend is a good friend then they'll respect what you tell them.

Just tell them you appreciate their concern but you want to believe what you believe. I have experienced this once or twice. I explained that it was really starting to put a strain on our friendship, and if she didn't stop I would rather not see her any more.

Claim to be an independent Christian who reads at home and you do not want to go to an organized church. You may have to learn some Bible to pull it off.
