It varies by the child. I started my five year old out at 9 then when i seen he was cranky and having a bad day at school i changed it to 8 and he has been doing pretty good. Each child is different though. Pick a reasonable time and change it as you feel you need to. If he or she is cranky and hard to wake make them go to bed a half hour earlier till you find a time where they get enough sleep.

Eight o'clock. Read to the child for 20 minutes every night. He/she will sleep well and love you forever for that 20 minutes you spend reading to him. One day in the near future you will be bragging about his reading skills. He will be an achiever all through his school days. Tried and tested for two generations in our family. Believe me it works. We are creatures of habit. It also gives you a quiet time in the later part of the evening . . . until the teen years.

I'd say 8 pm. And if s/he is not sufficiently rested in the morning, move it up to 7:30.

not sooner than 8 not later than 10 if the kid resists tell her/him ok you have 5 or 10 min to do ( what he/she is doing) then you should get ready to go to bed and don't extend this time. after 5-10 minutes take him/her to the bed ( of course you don't forget brushing the teeth and washroom) ask him/her to give a good night kiss to present adults and don't talk much. come out of the room if he/she coming out of room without saying anything ( which is very important) just take her/him to the bed again. do everything as gentle and calm possible.

8pm is a good idea. it gives parents or parent quiet time and things on t.v. are not geared for young viewers after 8. you can put them to bed and give a 1/2 reading or coloring time while in bed to help them wind down

Full time kindergarden or part time?

If full time, 8:00-8:30 gives them enough rest. They are learning so much,...you dont want them dozing off in class playing with lego's
