I am 42 and run into all these questions about having sex and dating from very young people. I want to answer them honestly, but then i feel like I want to go into this whole lecture on why I gave my answer.. in the end, I don't answer them. I have 3 children, 18,12 and 11. I figure I knkow a thing or 2 about kids and what is best for them ( stay a virgin til your 50 :) ). How does the older crowd answer these questions or do you just skip by them?

When an 11 year old wants to have sex, or a 14 year old thinks she needs to date an 18 year old... I do tell them to wait, and it's wrong, and blah blah blah... although I don't know these kids it freaks me out.

Go by the way the question is asked, usually young people will ask simplistic questions. Also click on their avatar and see if I can get some sort of history, saying their age in another post or have it in their 360. I also try to be generic. I try to give correct info but limit the total answer.

I'm 29, childless, and I skip over them too. I might feel more comfortable with it if I knew for sure how old the person was - like if I knew they were an older teen I'd give a clinical response. But you never know on yahoo, the kid could be 11 for all you know, and my opinion is in a case like that they should just remain ignorant. Somebody's gonna answer, I'm sure, but it won't be me!
If you'll forgive a tangent, what makes me mad too is all these kids that post what are obviously just homework questions and expect people to give them answers. Then people DO give them answers and you know they turn it in, claiming credit for the work! Sorry, but that's called cheating.

I'm 43 and have a 19 and 21 year old (boys) and at first i didn't know how to answer then youngsters on her, heck i was so freaked out at first reading the questions....I'm very careful because ya don't really know how old someone is and i refuse to explain in any answer how to have sex or anything having to do with that. I just tell them to go buy a book or its past their bedtime.....I have no problem with the question my boys ask, we are very open and yes they do shock me, i don't let it show LOL I freak out after they leave LOL Just be careful on your answers, you don't want to get in trouble, but yet you want to give good advise....

Most are on here just for fun anyway so yes tell them how you really feel nothing wrong that. Honest is always the best answer and you never know it may just do some good.
Good for you keep up the good work..

i'm 15 and still a proud virgin. I asked my mum about sex when i turned 11. She told me, but didn't go into detail. It was really simple. usually kids are uncomforatable asking even their parents these questions. I know i was.

I skip a lot of them. When I do answer, I usually say something like "tell your parents".
