Add on: Some of you think that i do not give to God. I tithe all of the time. I give offerings as instructed in Malachi 3. I just wonder about some ministers of the "gospel" who make claims that God will bless them in many ways if thjey give more than the tithe and offering required in the bible.

There is one guy who tells people about a $58 seed blessing. He claims, "sow" the $58 into his or some ministry and count off about 58 days and document the blessings that God brings into your life.

I just think a lot of it is a scam.

We are not to give to get. Yet they make the claim that we will get rich or so.

Yeah, there are scam artists out there fleecing the flock in Jesus' name. When you see 'em, point 'em out and avoid them. God will deal with them in His time.

If you can spell it (scam), people are doing it. And people are really doing it whether you can spell it or not, whether they're trying to sell you a car, clothes, food, a vacation, a quick-and-easy investment, etc.. But the issue of tithing and salvation, also a target of "scammers", are playing with serious sheeiiiitttttttttttttt, because the issues of giving vs. getting, and "life hereafter", etc., are no joke, but there are ample people who will scam you on that too, so be watchful for the wolf in sheeps clothing. God Bless you.

You are correct. Many pastors of today preach about "health and wealth". "Give to God and recieve abundantly!" "If you lack stuff, you lack faith!" "See how the Lord has blessed me!". This is the Charismatic movement. The bible says that the Lord thinks so little of riches, that he gives it to his enemies. Tithing is about faith and thankfulness, but that doesn't mean that you won't recieve any blessings or rewards in heaven. But donating more money to a church that is good is a very good thing to do. Tithing extra can be good.

Agreed! Our Pastor always says, "Where God guides, God provides."

He never passes an offering plate. We don't even have envelopes in the pews.

Instead, there is a little box in the back of the church. It is rarely made reference to and if it is mentioned, it is mentioned ever so slightly.

Our Pastor says, "The day there isn't enough money in that box to support our ministries, is the day God is telling him he is not doing his job."

I don't believe in giving to get. A true tithe is done with a SELFLESS HEART. Giving to get is only thinking about your self.

Good post you made. It is important to ponder these things from time to time.

Yes, they are scamming -- big time. Religion is a money-making business.

Don Stewart, Robert Tilton, Jim Bakker, Peter Popoff, and many others are all guilty of preaching the Gospel of Prosperity -- with the money going into their pockets!

Check out Jan Crouch (Trinity Broadcasting), below, in her video asking for grocery money. Trinity is worth $340 million, and she wants poor people to send their grocery money to her! For another facelift and a new pink wig.

Also check out the links in the 2nd link, with many ministers listed with their huge wealth -- all obtained from scamming people with promises of security and prosperity.

all religion is a scam! If theres a god, that created everything why would he need money????? and is there a currency conversion from earth to heaven??? I havent noticed "pearly gates" on the world stock exchange.
Religion is big business! its a smart business too because all you need to do is read the same old book to people over and over and then hand around a bowl and tell them to cough up their money....no other business provides the customer with so little for such a tasty return!

Yes, some of them is a scam.

Check on the ministry first before you tithe.

If they are doing good works that can be justified or seen, then support it.

If you feel fishy about it, then stopped it. Check with others friends.

Give wisely.

Depends on how you look at it, if you wish to support those that offer such 'deals' then you have done you deed for the day.
I choose to give simply for the sake of giving, if I receive in a time of need, then I am humbly grateful. But I don't give, to buy my way to grace or heaven, as that in itself is wrong.

Did this for years....Got nothing but broke.

If you feel you need to give money away, give your money to human beings who are in need instead of to these geeks. If people stop giving preachers their money, the preachers will go get used car sales men jobs and the world will be a better place....Please, people wake up!!
