Either a themed buffet (Mexican, Italian, Kenyan...) or what my mom calls 'glammed up soul food'. These are the foods that you crave when you are homesick, just jazzed up a little if you need it. Mine would be:
- Chicken Curry Caserole (cambell's recipe with chicken, cheese and bread crumbs)
- Peach Beer Steak (cheap steak marinated with mexican beer, herbs, and fresh peaches)
- Loaded Stuffing (boxed stuffing with apples, raisins, carrots, and celery)
- Orzo (with a light chese sauce and tomatos)
- Sucatash (lima beans, carrots, corn, green beans, and peas)
- Arugola salad (spring mix with gozogola cheese, roma tomatos, and candied walnuts w/ a rasberry vinagarette)
We have served this menu at family reunions and showers and it works really well. It is also easy to make and not very expensive so we tend to cater it ourselves.
Good Luck!

It would depend on the culture and who u are inviting if the guest are young then you would cater to their taste if older vice veraa if it is a mixed crowd you would try to get a little of both, It also depends on the type of wedding is it formal, informal , gardern, all those things have to be concidered before planning a wedding. And one more thing you have to concider the cost such as how much do you intend to spend.

I would say roasted pig and about 4 to 5 side dishes of all kinds and salad, rolls and desert and of course a punch bowl one spiked and one not spiked. Had it at my cousins wedding a few months ago or if you don't like pig you can get really good chicken or steak.
