India is Great for visiting the historical sites .. don't miss Taj Mahal .. it is majestic .. One of the most beautiful I have seen. GOA is a very nice beach resort that I highly recommend.

The major cities are less impressive to me, not a typical shopping paradise, etc. Its developing .. but really don't put your expectation too high.

Hotels are the most beautiful structures in town, and they do cost a bomb. They are one of the most expensive hotels I know .. typically USD300 +/- for a decent one.

Food is fantastic, but I recommend decent restaurants if you are coming from 1st world country, as our stomachs are not trainned for street galore ..

Overall, rich historical country with rich culture and Great food to boot! You may be able to pick up some interesting vintage or antiques from some markets ...

Enjoy ..

Answer to your question depends on your definition of Fun.

If it is an irresponsible behaviour, enjoyment at the cost of others, dis-regard for local customs and faiths,...., you could severely be at the receiving end.

India is a diverse country. You may be allowed do have fun of a kind at one place but a strict no-no at the other place like Goa vs. Chennai. Follow the established rule - In Rome, do as the Romans do. Fun would be abundant without sky even be the limit!!

I went to a disco in Pahaganj. It was not the kind of fun for which you are looking.

India is full of extraordinary things, beautiful colours, extreme heat, poverty, filth, noise, pollution, whilst at the same time friendly people and terrorist bombers.

A bomb went off in a hotel in Pahaganj whilst I was there.

Mahatma Ghandi's grave was covered in flower petals. The juxtaposition of many things in India make you say, fun it is not. A country of extreme contrasts between beauty and the beast it is.

Goa is great fun!!

I'd have to say that Delhi, Agra and Mumbai were all interesting.

I had the most fun in Goa. It has beautiful beaches, lots to do and friendly people.
