when you catch him chewing on bad things, say sternly 'no', then show him what he's allowed to chew on, and when/if he does, praise him, he'll associate the bad things with getting scolded, and his toys with getting pet and hugged. or try to keep anything he's not allowed to chew on, up and off the floor, like shoes and things like that, of course furniture legs (which became my puppy's favorite chew toy) are impossible to keep off the floor, so that will take some time, and patience, but there are sprays that make things taste bitter and yucky that dogs will try to stay away from. hope this helps

One thing we did for our pup was to give her a jeans knot. Cut the legs off a pair of old jeans and tie each leg into one knot. She liked it better than the toys we bought her, probably because -- even after laundering -- it still smelled like us. Try that. There are also pet repellent sprays.
This pup also liked the feel and noise of chewing on a half-deflated (squish half the air out and put the cap back on) pop bottle. We used the 20-ounce size because she wasn't a big dog. Again, I also think she liked things we had handled a lot.
Some dogs like chewing on forbidden items just to get your attention. Others can't be bothered and just chew on whatever's handiest. Look into his eyes; that's where you'll be able to tell the difference. If he looks like "Oh, crud, caught again" or "What? What'd I do now?" it's one thing. If he looks like "Yeah? Well, come and get it back, just try it!" then it's quite another.

First of all, anything of real value keep out of his reach. This is what they do. Try taking a washrag and soaking it then freeze it. It'll give them something new to chew on, and numbs the pain of their new teeth growing in, which is one reason as to why they chew. Not to mention it won't cost anything.

i give my puppies ice cubes to play with. they numb the gums when they eat them so the pain of the teeth dont bother them so much. they are also fun for them to play with, chasing them all over the kitchen floor! i found it help them to not chew very much either.
raw hides are good to or stuffed toys. make sure your consistent in disciplining him on things hes not allowed to chew on. switch whatever it is hes not allowed to chew on with a raw hide chew. says "no! bad! chew on this!" then of course praise him for chewing on the raw hides. other wise i found that if i didn't nip it soon they end up growing up to do the same thing.
best of blessings.

When my golden retreive was teething she chewed up my fathers bicycleing cleets, you need to punish them for chewing stuff thats not supposed to be chewed on, and reward them for chewing on sticks, chew toys, and other acceptable chewing objects.

One word.. KONG
Go to your local pet store first thing tomorrow and buy one or two kong toys, you dont have to buy the special treats to put in them, you can fill them with water and freeze them, they work just like a babys teething ring.. or out can put peanut butter in it, or cheese..
heres there website so you know what your looking for, also they have ideas on things to fill them with :)

Give him raw meaty bones, Nylabones,Kongs filled with Peanut butter, yogurt that have been frozen. Don't give him rawhide since these can cause blockages and choking. Also many are treated with toxic chemicals taht could make your dog sick.

Crate him. Maybe the stuff you're giving him is too hard for his gums. Try softening the pig ears a little by soaking them in water.
