Hitler killed Jews because he wanted to, Truman killed Japanese because it was decided that more lives would be saved by ending the war soon than allowing it to continue for many years. I don't like Jewish people any more than Japanese people or any other arbitrary "category" of peoples, but Hiter did what he did out of ignorance and malice, unlike Truman... although perhaps neither were completely correct.
