Please don't worry, your puppy will be fine. Puppies eat things they shouldn't all the time and a chewed up pencil won't hurt him.

My dog ate an entire box of colored pencils... Anyway, pencil's today don't have lead, they have graphite. The main thing you need to watch out for is whether or not your smaller dog passes the pieces okay. Just watch out for normal poo, and be ready to phone your vet.

Call the vet as soon as you can. You could feed your puppy some bread. Bread will wrap itself around the harder parts and made a padding around the pencil parts. Chances are that it's small enough to go through. Call the vet as well. They need to know and can tell you what else maybe to do.

My son swallowed a small plastic piece from his legos a few years back and that's what the dr. said to do with him. It was small enough to come out on its own.

Don't freak. The puppy will be fine. Pencils are now made with GRAPHITE, not lead, so, he or she will poop it outin a day or two. If there is blood, take the dog to a vet!!! They will do x-rays to make sure that he/she passed it all.

A friend of mine's dog once got into her nicotine gum and ate a bunch of it. She called the vet, and he recommended giving the dog hydrogine peroxide -- this causes the dog to vomit up all the stuff that he ate. HOWEVER, I don't know if this would be appropriate for younger dogs (her's was quite old) or how much you should give the dog. Hope this helps and good luck!

The lead in pencils is not poisonous, as it's not actually lead, it's graphite. You should get your puppy to the vet a.s.a.p. The pieces of wood may cut him going through his digestive system. He will probably be ok.

I am not a vet, but my golden retriever has eaten worse things than that (rocks, etc.) and she's doing just fine - I wouldn't get too upset. Also, it's not really lead, it's graphite inside a pencil.

Lmao. thats hilarious...but now in a serious note. i would take the dog to the vet and maybe they do xrays on it. if not most likely they will give him a laxative that way he can poop it out. dont worry he wont die. its just a pencil.

My dog eats pens and pencils and glasses and makeup and shoes and hangers and chocolate and he is still alive. You're fine. Dogs are tough, they can take it. And when in doubt, call the vet, don't ask us.
