Yes you can drink tea. But stay away from the herbal teas. Many HERBS have adverse side effects on the baby. Try to drink 2 or less cups of caffinated tea. You can drink decaf without any problems. Make sure you are getting your 10-12 8oz of water, 12oz of milk, and 16 oz of Orange Juice a day. If you still have room for a cup or two of tea go for it. Good Luck with your pregnancy.

While some recent studies have shown that high caffeine usage may be related to miscarriage in early pregnancy, once a woman passes the miscarriage worry stage, she should be able to enjoy an occasional jolt of java, or soft drink or tea. Having a cup of coffee a day should be fine. If you are a five-large-Starbucks-a-day woman, you should cut back. *there are some professionals that recommend no more than 4 cups of a caffinated drink-tea has more caffeine than coffee.

Stick to the established brands in the grocery store. The type of herbal tea that worries doctors is often sold in natural health food stores as a health “cure-all.” Be suspicious of herbal teas advertised to stop all kinds of different problems such as getting rid of depression or stopping pregnancy nausea. Some of them have not have been tested as safe during pregnancy.

Any tea is fine. I'm sure your doctor would say de-caf is best, but if you are queasy try the lemon, ginger, or mint. Those are suppose to be really good for morning sickness. Green tea is good for you as well.

With my last pregnancy I drank Rainbow Rooibos tea. It is from Africa and is herbal w/no caffene. It has a light amaretto flavor and helps with nausea. You can order it online if there isn't a tea shop near by.

As long as its not cetrain herbal teas...

Herbal teas are a safer haven, with respect to caffeine intake. But not all herbs should be consumed while pregnant. Herbs such as ephedra, mugwort, and cohosh should be avoided. Stick to safer herbs such as mint, chamomile, or fruit teas.
