Get doc to refer you to a sleep clinic where they can monitor your brain waves it could be that there is a chemical imbalance that is stopping you from sleeping, you do not say what happens when you try to sleep.
You could always try meditation or something to relax your mind there is normally a logical explanation to why something strange like this occurs have a think back to just before it all started and see if you can remember if anything weired happened (food, person or event )
Good luck hope you have happy rem sleep soon

Have you been tested to see if you are bi-polar. The people with this disorder can stay awake for days. Do you go from elated and wide awake to depressed and sleep all of the time? It is something to consider getting checked out for.

Well Tone, I think you are having a bit of a moan. I think you must have slept a little in the two months or the doctor would have had you admitted to hospital for tests. If you are telling the truth.....you probably have yourself all worked up about not falling asleep. Are you drinking a lot of tea or coffee before going to bed or are you worried about something else as well as worrying about not being able to sleep. Try to clear your mind of all thoughts of sleeplessness and any other worries you might have.....I have heard that if you lie relaxed and start to focus on your toes and slowly relax each one in turn....then move on to your ankles and relax each of them....then move up to your knees and do the same....and....fingers....hands....arms....shoulders....neck. It worked for me. I only remember getting as far as my knees and I must have fallen asleep. Another thing I often do is redecorate a room in my mind. I suppose you would have to like to decorate for that to work for you. I never manage to finish a room before I fall asleep. You could do something that you like to do. It's a pity the book doesn't work for you. You could always count your blessings....like thinking of all the good things in your life and I'll bet you will fall asleep happy and be a little ashamed for moaning. You are not ill, and remember, whatever your worry, everything passes. You will be alright.

Try forcing yourself to stay awake. Set yourself a task, like pushups followed by a walk, followed by, etc. When you force yourself to do something, often the opposite results
