If so, do you think they live too lavishly off of donated funds? What is more humiliating, the leaders asking or th givers giving?

Add on: Some of you think that i do not give to God. I tithe all of the time. I give offerings as instructed in Malachi 3. I just wonder about some ministers of the "gospel" who make claims that God will bless them in many ways if thjey give more than the tithe and offering required in the bible.
There is one guy who tells people about a $58 seed blessing. He claims, "sow" the $58 into his or some ministry and count off about 58 days and document the blessings that God brings into your life.
I just think a lot of it is a scam.

Yes I do and then again Some. Bottom line is if the Fisherman throws bait (meaning more that what the WORD SAYS) if the fish bites o well! That's only the peoples fault!
God only said Give a tenth and for offering - What ever you feel you should give according to how gratefull you are towards God in helping you through the week etc.

Yes, I think a lot of them ask too much of their followers. And yes I think the TV preachers live too high on the hog. Big fancy houses, luxury cars, expensive suits and jewelry. I say, if they need more money to run their ministries, they should sell the huge house, drive a regular car, and stop spending money on the most expensive clothes and jewelry.

Yes I do. But what frightens me even more is that they get what they ask for plus some. If it is put to community service help or funding children's charities then I'm all for it. But if it is only going to line their pockets, I think it is an abomination that God will take up with them on judgement day. Like to be a fly on the wall for that conversation...

Of course, they ask for money for THEMSELVES. They are all very, very rich multi-millionaires, the entire lot of them on TV.
Look at all the scamming that was done with Jim Bakker and the PTL Club. The others are just the same.
Check out this site with information about their weath. Scroll down and you will see links for several preachers.
The second link is a YouTube video of Jan Crouch (Trinity Broadcasting) asking people (usually poor people) to send in their GROCERY money -- what for? So she can get another facelift and buy another pink wig?
Talk about scam artists!!! Religion is a real business, for sure.

After the Jim and Tammy Bakker farce, I have had problems believing in tele-evangelists. It seems they all use alot of the money to live lavishly. The Bakkers even air conditioned their doghouse and spent 10,000 dollars just for bathroom faucets for their mansion.

obviously you are one of those God robbers non tithing bunch those of us who are givers never complain about men of God giving opportunity for men to sow seed into good ground to bless the ministry and spread the word and to receive a harvest on what I've given. you dont know God's financial plan and are in error cause you dont know the Word of God.
its God's will for us to be saved, its God's will for us to be healed all the time, always, and its God will for us to live in protection from the evils in this present world and its God's will for us to be rich! 3 john 2!

I think a lot of them do and wonder where the money is going.
If it is going for them to be televised it's a waste of money.
Television Evangelists would be useful for shut in's but most of them can't afford to use their money on such things.
Jesus preached and didn't have a home here on earth or a bed.
It is shameful how people are quick to give up money to them too, when they could be donating it to people who need it.

Yes and No. They can ask for all the money they want - but if a person is truly led by the Holy Spirit in what they give and to whom they give it - then it will go where it is supposed to and there will be no humiliation involved at all.

No one makes people give, that's between them and God. I know it takes a fortune to spread the Gospel, churches, travel, literature and TV time. Not everyone on TV calling himself to be a Christian is, but many are.I don't think Christians should have to look or act poor, its not a good reflection.
