Excluding Native Americans, ALL Americans have an immigration heritage-some forced by war, some forced by slavery, some by choice...why did your ancestors come? when and how?

I am asking about your heritage, not so much your thinking about illegal vs legal...perhaps you can find a quesion regarding that somewhere else....rather i'm looking for the commonalities of Americans people..which some of you refuse to do...I feel bad for you.

I gave thumbs up to everyone who answered the question posed. The rest of you either don't know how to read....or are just too opinionated to follow direction.

My dad immigrated from Italy in 1945, and my mom is french canadian with some irish ancestry as well.. Now that dates back a couple hundred years ago!
By the way, I'm canadian, but since I'm right next door, the immigration process in both countries is/was very similar.
My grandparents on my fathers side decide to come to Canada because of the war and poverty where they lived in Italy.

I am 1/4 American Indian, (Mescalero Apache). Until "recently" that branch of ancestors were nomadic. Most of the "Native" branch of my family call themselves Mexican. They have all been in the US since the late 1800s.

The first of my European ancestors came to Canada in 1638. They toddled down to what would become New Orleans, around 1718.
Next migration were on the Gulf Coast by 1699, pioneering for the French.
Most recent immigrant was about 1850, from one from Dalmatia and one from Denmark.

At various times--the first from Holland around 1640, then some from England a few years later. Some from Wales but who knows when. My mother's father from Sweden around 1880. My father was born in Canada;he was mostly Scottish on his father's side. His mother was English and French, with an Irishman in the family someplace.
I have had relatives in every war from 1776 to Viet Nam.
(including myself)

My father's side was first, they came over in 1919 from Poland and ended up in Pittsburgh. My mother's side was a little later, because both my grandparents moved to Canada from Ireland in the early 1930's, then to America in the 40's when they married.
I don't know the details of how or why they got here, all the stories died with them, and I haven't tried to find out much.

I trust you. each individual in the U.S. is an immigrant or a descendant of immigrants. rapid actuality, even in Japan, there are the so referred to as "natives" on the northern islands. Genetically they are of Mongolian/ecu descent. See the cyber web internet site below. they appear as if community individuals. possibly there could be a link between the Ainus and the community individuals? Ainu Language: countless theories of the beginning and relationship of Ainu with different languages such as community American and Pacific Rim languages.

In the 1700's from England, Scotland and Wales. I don't know why. I agree we all were immigrants at some point, but the argument about immigration is not about who you are and where you came from it's what you expect when you get here. Illegals that expect a handout from our government, free health care, and all the rights of tax paying, legal, voting Americans are what people are angry about. Not the people that have moved here, legally and pay their debt to society like everyone else.
