there is a guy that says that he lkes me but that he doesn't want a girlfriend right now. what does he mean?

That's something you'll never figure out without getting to know him better, hopefully without getting romantically involved until you know if it means:
1) My parents had a lousy relationship and I'm wary of getting involved,
2) I just like to use girls for sex without any ties,
3) I already have a girlfriend you don't know about - or two,
4) I don't know you well enough for any kind of commitment.

Meaning that he is not officially ready for a girlfriend....give him time if like him to. You wouldnt want him to be rushed into getting a girlfriend beacause then things may or may not turn out right.

He wants a "friendship." He wants all the benefits of dating, but he doesn't want to actually date. It isn't an easy thing. You end up wanting to be more. But, because he's was honest in the beginning and is already getting what he wants he won't agree to it. Then you end up with a broken heart.

This guy probably just want to have fun! He doesnt want a girlfriend because otherwise he would have to stay with just one person, in this case you. He probably just want to kiss you and etc but also have realtions with other girls.

maybe he likes you but he's going through some tough situations in his life right now that he doesnt want to get in a relationship that might cause him more stress, or maybe he doesnt want you to get caught up in his problems either
