Dogs hanged for eating a 9 year old boy?

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me - if you had a gun you would shoot the dogs, or maybe batter there brains out with a brick, hanging them sounds a little strange, but they had to be killed one way or the other, and this is as good away as any.

You have to realize that this kind of thing is "normal" in other cultures. Just a few weeks ago, they were clubbing to death dogs because they had a few dogs that were rabid, and they thought the only way to control the spread of the disease was to kill all the dogs in the community. This, I believe, was also in China ( i could be wrong) They were grabbing the leashes out of the owners hands and beating them right there on the sidewalks.

As for this situation. Both the mother and the dog owners are at fault. The mother should have had a better eye on her child. And the dog owner should not have allowed them to run loose. ( I doubt there is a leash law in China though) He also should have taken better care of the dog. The dog was probably starving and instinct kicked in.
It's sad that the boy was killed that way, and personally, I would have beaten the dog to death with the hammer if it was my kid. I think a public hanging is a bit overkill, but again..it is probably "normal" in their culture. Here in the US, the dog would have been killed too, it's just that we do things a little differently.

I'm not sure the dogs were punished adequately and I'd love to hear that the owner was jailed or otherwise punished for "leading the dogs away..." instead of finding out how they got blood all over themselves.
I look forward to hearing other opinions on this and I really appreciate the manner in which this question was phrased. Very nice. (Pun intended.)

tsk tsk ,tks,sad sad tragedy,really hard to comment,all i can say is,,if these dogs had an owner,they should be held responsible for all these deaths,for fail to provide proper care and raise the dogs well,maybe these animals were either stressed out,rabid,or simply angry,animals tend to attack under frustrations and stress,as much as human does,only that we are able to rationalize and think things better,then these animals,who just follow their instincts,now,also given the report about china been CULLING dogs or/and korea,they are sometimes even SKINNED ALIVE!a true barbarity!!and cruelty to aniimals,i'ts no w o nder and natural that in some instances,these animal snap back!then humans react,for their very selfish actions

Ok these people need to be humane. How can you torture such an animal? When these things happen you put the dog out of its life peacefully. Hanging them is like going back 200 years in time, don't you think that by now we would have developed into civil people? This is just barbaric.

OMG! THat is horrible! I have both sides...one: they shouldn't hang the dogs because its not their fault that they are wild animals, two: they should because that is soo sad and disgusting, and those dogs are too ferocious to be alive. I am on both sides, but leaning on the second one.

There is never a reason to hang an animal, because they don't have complex enough thought process to think of what they're doing. Since hanging is just to put an extra influence on death, this is just stupid.

maybe matt a and jugglin' should clink on the link that was provided and read the story, the dogs where hanged and if it was my kid i would have beat the living sh*t out of those dogs while they were hanging in the tree
