The Kalalau Trail on Kauai is phenomenal. if you can get a reservation, definitely do it. the hike is 1 to 1.5 days each way, and there's an extraordinarily beautiful valley at the end where some people go to setup a base camp and explore the area for weeks. We hiked there a few years ago and loved it. Note -- it's quite challenging especially if any rain so be ready for an intense experience. See link for info.

There is a classic hike on the northeast shore of Kona, likely to be wet. Hiking through the volcano crater on Maui is cool, dry and at 10,000' cold. There are lots of great hikes through the national park on the big Island, somewhat wet at times.

Do alot of research. There a marijuana farmers in the back country who are very protective of their crops so stay on trails. Also there are some local bad-asses around, going with a large group will be safer. Unless I carried a gun I would stick to day hikes, and I would choose them wisely.
