i think a 150 a week is resonable espcially since he is bringing his own snack and lunch most day-cares charge around the same maybe a little more it depends on what your going to do with the child if your just going to watch him then 150 is fair if your going to do a lot of crafts and activities or taking him on field trips you can ask for a small fee to cover supplies but i think she is paying you a fair wadge you only really charge by the hour if your a teenager watching kids for a night or a few hours on the weekend and then its like 7 dollars an hour but thats no feisable for a full time sitter i think 150 is fair.

I live in Phoenix and I pay $120/wk for in home Full time day care and that is about average for Phoenix, but I would think it would be more in Cali since the min wage and cost of living are more. And my son is 2 1/2 and not potty trained, and for those of you who think that he should be potty trained,...wvery child develops at there own rate and if you have read any parenting books you would know the average boy potty trains between 2 1/2 & 3 1/2 and no child should be FORCED to potty train before they are develop mentally ready.

I've heard that babysitting nowdays brings in between $8-12 an hour but I suppose if you are doing it every day for several hours it might be better to ask for a little less. Still, I wouldn't go below $6 an hour. Especially think about the fact that you could spend that time at a job making at least $5.15 (minimum wage).
Whatever you decide, good luck with the kid.

How old are you? If you are under 18, sure, then that's a pretty good deal, but do you know how much day care centers charge for that amount of babysitting? Lots more than you are, that's for sure! Even though this is your boyfriend's boss's child, don't feel obligated to undercut yourself. I would charge at least $5.00 an hour to watch the child (if he goes anywhere else, the cheapest he will be able to get is min. wage, which is around $5.50, so he is still getting a deal)
Honestly, I wouldn't spend that much time with a kid for any price, but that's just me!

First of all....where are you located?? Location matters....for instance....I am from NJ but I am living in OK. I am RIGHT NOW paying $70 a week for full time daycare and in NJ it would be closer to $150 a week.
I would say, call the local day cares and ask how much THEY would charge and charge a little under that. That way, they will feel like they are getting a good deal and don't say "well for that price I will just put him in daycare".......

4 bucks an hour is way too low to baby sit a 2 and a half year old! They are handfuls especially if they are not potty trained! I would ask for more money. thats a full time job for not so full time pay..

This totally depends on your area. $4 an hour here is a pretty good deal but in other areas $4 would be an insult.
Just make sure your offer is around the same as daycare centers in your area.

I think you should ask for at least minimum wage. 2 1/2 is about the most difficult age to deal with. Depending on what your background is, you could go as high as $8/hr.

I would say 150 a week is fair. Call around for some day care places and under cut them by alittle so they get a deal. If you charge to high they might just go to a daycare.
