You dont need a certification to be Florida preschool assistant. All you need is a High School Diploma, References working with children. You'll have to take 40-clock-hour Introductory Child Care training Part I and Part II courses, 5-clock-hour (or .5 Continue Education Units) Early Literacy and Language Development, within 1 year of employment ,10-clock-hours of Annual In-service training completed between July 1 and June 30 each year. Getting your CDA would be good for teaching Preschool. The website im going to give you is. www.myflorida.com/childcare/training this is the website you'll going to use when you schedule your classess.

In NJ, no certification is required to be a Pre-school assistant. You just must be over 18. I suggest to try to get to CDA though. This certification is offered by Community colleges.

You have to have the 40 hr course (I believe) just to be an assistant, this covers state laws etc in child care. Look for info under "CDA"
