Together it takes them 8 hours, so alone it would take them about
8x2= 16. I'd guess Anna takes about 14 hours and Carla takes about 18.

A= C-2
C= C
8= (C+C-2)/2
8=C-1
C=9
(9 + 9 -2 )/2= 8

It takes Carla 9 hours and Anna 7 hours

I'm not very good at math, but this is all I could think of in the spur of the moment

togethet in 1 hour they can paint 1/8th of the van
let Anna take x hours and Carla x+2 hours
in one hour anna can paint 1/x of the van
and carla can paint 1/(x+2) of the van
the eqution is
(1/x)+(1/(x+2))=1/8
(2x+2)/x(x+2)=1/8
cross multiplying
16x+16=x^2+2x
=>x^2-14x-16=0
solving
x=[14+/-(196-64)]/2
=[14+/-2(33)^1/2]/2
=7+/-(33)^1/2
the negative value shall be ignored
x=12.7 approximately
so Anna will take 12.7 hours and
Carla14.7 hours

It would take Anna 15.062 hours and slow Carla 17.062 hours.
8/15.062 + 8/17.062 = 1.0000 vans. I can extend the decimal point as necessary; they'll duplicate the post-integer part of the square root of 65 (.0622577...)
