The deceased person's ba needs to be able to return to the corpse to be regenerated from time to time. If we have moved the bodies and the tomb furnishings into museums, then how can the ba find its way back to its corpse?

Good question. Many tombs were robbed and broken into before archaeologists got around to getting into the tombs themselves. Most of the worst damage occurred from the tomb raiders. If the body was destroyed the ba would have no place of regeneration, If the body were moved, who is to say they can't find their way back to it because they once were a part of it. Perhaps in the case of removal they will by means of their own always know their way back.

Thank you. Thank you so much. Finally, a voice of both ethical behaviour and cultural sensitivity. It is about time. We have been strip mining the past and treating people's sacred remains like they are only so many science experiments. Who put the egg heads in charge anyway!! Not me. I didn't vote for it. Anyway, thank you fellow rebel. Thanks you for speaking out on a seemingly insignificant point, but one with profound implications to any civilised society.

I thought it was his ka?
That's why I want to be cremated, so that in 200 years people won't be digging up my bones.
