18 month old babies know a lot, but they are also new to a lot of things... so don't just beat him because he's testing you.
Biting... well, I've read that they are merely testing you at that age.
"Between the ages of 2 and 5 years, children begin learning social skills, such as self-control, sharing, and cooperating with others. With your guidance, your child can ..."

I know there are people that believe something as small as spanking a child is a crime, but it isn't. It shows the child who has the power. There's a difference between spanking and beating the **** out of child. Otherwise, if you don't show him who's boss he'll always do what he wants and later when you really want to punish him, he'll take it as a joke.

.Blood work should show if he has iron or other deficiencies or too much of something or a toxin like mold or allergies.Make changes in his diet especially taking sweets and processed foods out of his diet. If he is always kicking his legs look into restless leg syndrome for causes and cures/treatments.

Stern no! then followed by one minute in the corner. Don't kid yourself. He can learn. I have seen it happen. If he's smiling when you say no, then you aren't saying it firmly enough. He wil hear your tone more than the actual meaning of the word at this age.

pop him in the mouth. not hard, you mainly want to to be fast to suprize him. you could also try to be disapointed and basicaly put a guilt trip on him but he may be young for that. you could paddle his butt and then reward him when he does the right things.

Dont even think of disciplining the baby. He is just being a baby. Have patience. The time would discipline him.
