I dont know about the Navy but with the AF and Army after you start you arent allowed to raise your hands or feet....
The only resting position is staying both on your hands and feet and raising your butt to where you are shaped like an upside down V....Personally I dont see how you are really resting but still holding up your weight.

no you must stay in the up position with your butt NOT in the air like an upside down V. rest only waste time and it isnt really rest.
