Other than speed the difference is the air pressure and the oxygen content of the atmosphere I believe a jetliner reproduces the atmosphere at 8000 ft. You are travelling at 25-35 thousand an atmosphere that u would not be able to breath in.

Different to what exactly? Traveling over land is much faster than ground travel. Traveling by air over water sure beats swimming.
