Hmmm, god destroyed the phoenician empire, did he? I don't think so, Tyre was wealthy because of the purple dye it produced, and its downfall was caused by many invasions such as Alexander the Great, Rome, and Persia, not by God. Though it maintained its power for a while, eventually the purple dye that had been produced from the clams in its bay went out of fashion, striking the empire a grave blow, which sompletely crippled the city. Sorry, no god involved.
