Do you guys feel uncomfortable when a girl wears tight jeans and tight shirts that shows of there figure in church while worship? Do you think it takes the concentration off of God?

I try not to think about that. However, sometimes it IS too distracting. I'd prefer if girls dressed modestly, not just at church. In fact, a lot of times, I'm turned off by a girl who dresses immodestly. So be modest.

I'd say church guys feel just about the same as non church guys - to my touch anyway.

It is inappropriate for females to dress trashily in church, but well fitting clothes can also accentuate a figure to the point of distraction (at least we hope so).

From where I sit you can go 1 of 2 ways with this. You can either be distracted from church and be annoyed (or have some other equally negative emotion that truly takes you away from god's word) or you can be distracted and appreciate the beauty of what god has created and delivered to your eyes (or have some other equally positive emotion that keeps you in an attitude of appreciate of god). Let's face it though - if you notice you are distracted, right?

Peace!

I was raised in the desert, and grew up seeing beautiful women dressed to deal with the extreme heat, in church and out of church. Feeling these feelings is a part of being a man, and, it's okay to feel them.

What is not okay is not recognizing them for being in the flesh, and, as such, not talking to God about them. When I arrogantly think that I can live a holy life on on my own strength, I sin. When I surrender these thoughts to God, in prayer, and humbly ask Him for help, He has always come through.

Since you are 17 it is harder for you to talk to someone else in such situations. As you get older handling these situations will be easier for you. But for now I would just talk to your pastor about it, he should help you so you don't have to handle it all yourself. You can worry about handling such situations when you are older and have more experience with life situations. And of course it may make this guy a little disappointed that you don't like him, but it has to be addressed. Because he will just continue to have false hope that you will come to like him. Not good in the long run.

People can dress however they want to as long as they are in the house of The Lord. You are suppose to go to church to worship, but we are human and the lustful eye is always present, but remember temptation is not sin.

Absolutely.

A woman should try to be as modest as possible. Would you like it if men showed up to worship in tight tighty whiteys? But if you do, we forgive you hehe.

Men have enough trouble with lust. There is no shortage of temptation in todays society as it is!

Really, since humans were created naked, should we worship naked as well, to remove worldly distractions created by clothing and other worn items?

i am a girl and i do think that it is wrong to dress skanky for church... but maybe God is working on them for some other reason (i.e. lying) and hasnt gotten to modesty yet... but he will someday!
