I think thats a little weird that a cat wants to be a dog, but why not? Kids dress up as witches and other weird stuff, and it doesn't hurt them physiologically! By the way, how did you know your cat wants to be a dog?

I don't think that dressing her up as a dog would damage her physiologically. Actually, I find a lot of humour in the irony. Cats hate any dressing up though, so she probably wouldn't apprieciate it. You've inspired me to consider finding a mouse costume for my kitten now... :-D

If the cat met a dog dressed up as a cat there could be trouble.

Just say no to dressing pets up for holidays.
Annually over 3 million pets are mentally brutalized by this cruel practice. This tragedy must be stopped. Floppy ears at Easter, Bat ears at Halloween. Is no season sacred!
lol, seriously though, I worked at a stationary company that makes those folders with pictures of puppies and kitens on them for "back to school"...
I have looked at thousands of thumbnails of pictures of dogs and cats in costumes (our co. never used) but some of those animals look ready for mutany...
All I'm saying is if you dress it as a pirate, don't give it a sword.

Does the cat want to dress up as a dog, or do you want to dress the cat up as a dog? You can dress you dog or cat in anything you want as long as the animal is not uncomfortable or in pain. Dogs and cats are not affected psychologically like humans. Go ahead, dress them up in anything you want, and have fun!

It depends on the age of the cat in question.
Older cats can handle the pressures of becoming a dog for short periods of time, while younger cats do suffer extreme post-other animal stress disorders.

I don't think it would be "weird"; however, my understanding is that before one goes too far with transspecies dressing, they should talk with someone else knowledgeable about such things and consider whether it is just a case of cross-dressing or whether regular counselling and surgery are in order, i.e., is your cat really a dog trapped inside a cat's body?

My dog was a cat for halloween, and it was really funny and i think it was fine because she loved all of the attention her cat ears were getting.

If your cat told you it wants to dress up like a dog, then I don't see a problem with it.

How do you know your cat wants to dress up as a dog??? Don't be so mean to your cat. And if you do dress it up... no it wouldn't be damaging... ummm, your cat won't know the difference.
