ROME, Ga. - The never-ending march of technology now means school children here can pay for their cafeteria sloppy joes with their fingers.

Rome City Schools is switching to a scanning system that lets students use their fingerprints to access their accounts. In the past, students had to punch in their pin numbers.

"The finger's better because all you've got to do is put your finger in, and you don't have to do the number and get mixed up," said Adrianna Harris, a second grader at Anna K. Davie Elementary School.

I don't believe so. Technology tries to make things faster and that certainly is faster than a child trying to remember the correct PIN. A lot of businesses today use fingerprint and retinal scans for security purposes and I've not heard anyone saying those are the mark of the beast when they were introduced.

Hhhhmmmmmmm...... NO!!!

The end of times has been coming for the past two thousand years. Get over it dude.

Man has had fingerprints since the evolution of mankind....a fingerprint is not an artificial mark put on people as a sign. Keep looking for fanatical "signs" of your Rapture....but youre wasting your time. Its callled technology for the mindless.....people cant remember a four digit number, especially not while GOING TO SCHOOL!!! THIS is what is wrong with society - lack of intelligence, allowing a PC to do everything for us. But it is not the end of times.....

it's called fingerprint identification or fingerprint protection. It's not the mark of the beast...it's the mark of the government. Imagine if you will all your life's accounts rolled up into one single password a physical fingerprint...it's easy...yes? But it also paves the way for one ever to be misidentified.

I think that's great! You don't have to remember 1000 different pin #'s and passwords. I cant wait for PCs to come with fingerprint scanners! And if you're implying that this all means the end of the world is upon us, then you're another lunatic redneck religious fanatic who needs a new less destructive hobby.

No. They were all born with fingerprints, as were we all. Try looking at checking account numbers or debit cards. Now there is something creepy there. Soon you will not be able to buy anything without one or the other. Think about it.

Will,
They have a system that allows you to scan your cell phone and put a pin number in. I think that it's all a precursor to the infamous Mark of the Beast.

A Christian doesn't have to sweat it. The Rapture comes BEFORE the Mark. :)

BTW: The Mark is IN your forehead. (Mind). Not on your forehead.

good Q*.

It's just a finger print, we're born with finger prints! It isn't some artificial implant.
