If you love her, why don't you propose to her? It would make things easier on her parents if she knew that she is coming to be with the man she loves.

Telling them is easy. Just sit down and say "hey, mum and dad, I'm going to Australia to be with ... because I love him".

Simple.

Just needs to be honest about the whole situation to her parents.. there is no way to really soften the situation - she is a adult now and children grow up. Its just hard to let go sometimes.

she should sit them down and tell them exactly what her plans are. the fact that she has a plan might help them deal with it.
-since she is only 19, this is the perfect time to do it.
-isn't it better to do it and see if it works, than not do it and always wonder it if would have worked?
-it is a great opportunity and she promises to keep in touch
-now they have a great reason to travel to australia for vacation
