The same reason you don't put your hand into a hole in the ground to see if a badger lives there. You should not experiment with things that could kill you - or, in the case of the hole, small furry animals that will chew off your hand and use the bones for toothpicks.

This is the genealogy category. Genealogy is the study of family trees. You were lucky, because we genealogists are brilliant, witty, literate, erudite and devilishly handsome, so you received some good answers. You are usually better off to ask in the proper category.

Oh heck, there's nothing wrong with tasting chemicals... I work at a chemical factory...the bigest in the world, and we do shots of god knows what after our shifts for blind taste tests...lol

No, seriously, that was all just a joke, except for the working for a chemical factory part. There are even tasteless oderless chemicals in this place that are so toxic just a pinhead sized amount is all it would take on your skin to kill you... An odd story however, the scientist who discovered aspertain (Neutrasweet) discovered it on accident by tasting a chemical and wondering how sugar got into the lab...He's lucky to be alive.

Can this question get any more stupid and out of place??
Our bodies aren't exactly made of steel you know and even certain chemicals could melt steel.

First, go back to all questions. Then select the science topic.

As a genealogist, I just don't care about your question. I care about learning about my family history. Or, helping others find theirs.
