im asking what you would do if u were a a childcare teacher or r what would you do in this situation to help the children prepare for change.

Imagine next month the centre is moving down the road to brand new premises.
What are the strategies would you develop and implement to help the children prepare and cope for change.

This happened to my preschool about 3 years ago. Basically we talked to the children about how we were going to get a brand new preschool, and that all the teachers, as well as the children would be going to the new place.

Where possible we got the children to help pack some things into boxes, to make them a part of the process.

We also read stories about moving house, and compared it to that.

Because the staff were there, we found that the children coped suprisingly well with the relocation, much better than we had anticipated.... and were very excited by their new playground!

Go on an outing with the children and walk to the new centre, before you go explain that you are moving soon to a new daycare, everything will be new and exciting, make it fun. Come back and get them to draw the new centre. This will at least get them used to the idea. As long as the staff and their friends stay constant, they will probably hardly notice in a few days.
