Registration is merely proof of parentage, or pedigree.
Not being registered does not make the dog "not" purebred.

Being registered does not mean that the dog is necessarily a good example of its breed. (I understand your boxer is a great specimen. But being a great specimen will not solve the registration problem because registration is only proof of the dog's parentage, not of whether it is good, great, or in between).

Hopefully, you can remember the breeder's name, location, etc.

There is no need for papers, unless you intend to breed her. And breeding is a huge task. It requires a great deal of research to make a good "pairing." And whelping (delivering) the puppies at the time of their birth is nothing easy either.

With or without papers, she is still your loving pet.

You can't . End of story, that is all she wrote!!!!! As far as the AKC is concerned, she is a mix. No papers, no proof of parentage and NOT pure! You can go through the hoops and get an AKC ILP number, but she would have to be spayed and she can then only be entered in performance events.

No smart a** answers here, just the plain truth!!!!!!!!!!!

It does not matter if you dog could win Westminister!!!!!! If there are no papers the AKC cannot call it pure!!!!!! You would have to know the registered name of the parents and have the blue slip from the breeder to prove it was fron that breeding. IF you cannot do that, or the litter was never registered,or one of the parents were not registered...the AKC will not call it purebred. That is what the AKC is all about. Is registers ONLY dogs that come from registered parents and whose litters were registered. No non-papered dog are allowed into the Kennel Club.
You can get papers from the World KC or the Continential KC..but the are not worth the paper they are printed on and are only worthy of being used as toilet paper.

You should have looked into this YEARS ago. You may have had a better chance. There is a number of years which after the AKC will not register them, eveb WITH the blue slip!!!!!!!

If the litter was registered with AKC, the breeder will have the litter registration papers for that particular female boxer. You can only register her if you can get the litter registration papers from the breeder that has them. That is the ONLY way you can register your Boxer. If you don't remember the breeders name, address, and/or phone number, you are out of luck.

AKC is an association that registers dogs, to be registered it must be borne out of a registered dam and registered sire, if it was born with only one registered dog or none, i am truly sorry but the dog cant be registered, even if he wins dog shows, he cant join AKC dog shows except open ones, its probably to safeguard the breed, or breeding and for the protection of future owners themselves, and to promote the breed itself, sometimes a dog may look like that of a boxer but through its bloodlines, it may have some cross breeding which may later turn out in its litters. which will prejudice the breed and the owner and the future buyers as well as the standards.

Your dog can niot be registered with AKC unless the person who you bought the dog from registered the litter of pups.
If not there is no way to register this dog with AKC.
DOes not mean your dog is a mutt. YOur dog could be better lookiing and better quality than more than half of the dogs registered with AKC.
Papers are just that papers.
Unless you want to confirmation show they mean very little.
I do field trials and my dogs are registered with AKC but I would not confirmation show mine as they would not do well at it.

My mom's best friend experienced the same problem. Her dog's mother's litter was registered with the AKC but the breeder chose to sell them with or with out the papers. She too forgot the breeder's problem. With out the breeder's name there is little hope and if your dog's litter wasn't registered( breeders have to pay for this) or if your dog's parents weren't registered then there is certainly LITTLE chance of getting your dog registered. I have seen many many dogs sold claiming purebred but with no papers, I always avoid that so I would avoid the problem of proving or getting my dog registered..

Try this webite, it MIGHT be further help to you, I am not positively sure in this case though.

www.akc.org

go to the Registration section.

Also try the
APA(American Purebred Association) You will have to send in two photos of your dog and a 10.00 registration fee. Go to the site for further info...

Okay, so they are right about the AKC papers, you do have to have the original paper application from the breeder. You can, however, try your luck with the CKC (Continental Kennel Club). They are less strict. You can find out more at http://www.continentalkennelclub.com/?301fromckcusa.

Hope this helps some.

If the parents were AKC registered with full registration, then the litter can be registered. If not you could probably register her with the CKC or Continental Kennel Club. I think that they need to be 6 months old to do this, you might need 3 pictures of her and have 2 witnesses sign the application stating that she is pure bred. This is the link to them. Now if you register her with the CKC, you should probably not order a pedigree if the parents were not registered with them. You will not get a pedigree at all from them even if you pay for it.

You will have to contact the AKC and explain to them in deatil why you did not get papers as a pup. You will also need to know the breeder and all of that info. It is going to be hit or miss, but you cannot do it without finding the breeder and having a record of the sale.

i think that you can register under as a limited dog but you cant do all of the things that a full registration can do. to register her you can either go on the internet and order a sheet or just register her online.
