When I was pregnant I noticed that men and women alike were equally rude! They would push in front of me at the store because I couldn't walk fast enough for them. Nobody held the door open for me. I even had a lady in a store REFUSE to let me use the bathroom, and was very very rude about it. (I was around 8 months along at the time), I had to go sooooo bad, having a 5 pound baby sitting on your bladder all day long, of course you have to go like every 10 minuets! To all of the people who say stupid things like "oh it's your choice to be pregnant" or "It's not a disability" you are full of S***!!!!! I hope you not only have to go through pregnancy but have HUGE babies as well, then come and talk your crap about being jerk off's!!! I think that pregnant women and women with children less than a year old should be able to park in the handicap spots next to the front door at stores!!!

These days people are much more self-centred. They think why should I get up for someone else when I got here first, even if it is a pregnant woman. Everyone's so busy and under so much pressure and I think that's part of the reason why people are becoming so selfish. I also think that since the feminist movement men think they can treat women equally even to the extent that they will not get up for a pregnant woman. I think they missed the point...

I get up for anyone who I think needs the seat, or who asks. In fact, if I get on a tram/train that I know will get crowded I just stand up the back because I know I'll have to get up at some stage. But I agree that most people tend to pretend not to see people that they know they should get up for... but it's men and women equally. I dont think there should be an added obligation on men to offer their seat. Any able bodied person should offer it.

Am not a guy, but I am pregnant. I have found women are much more rude than men are. They let the door slam on me and have no problem bumping into me at stores and stuff. I don't expect special treatment, but some courtesy might be nice. Boys are much nicer. Go figure. Maybe chivalry isn't dead.

I do get up and I encourage others to do so as well....but there's a catch...the last thing you want to do is to suggest a woman is pregnant when she really isn't...so they have to be showing pretty clearly before I risk embarassing them and myself. As a pregnant woman, you can always ask for a seat.

And old people. If she's old enough to be your mother, and you don't have a broken leg, stand up and let the poor woman have your seat.
