Actually, loud music can trigger a pleasure responce in the brain, releasing endorphines, dopemine, and other pleasure chemicals in the brain. As for the lyrics, if they are condusive to making you want to cause harm then I would suggest you stop listening to them. If however they energise you and make you feel like moving I can't see what it could hurt. Rock on!

Indeed, sometimes harsh music can have a devastating effect on ones already fragile, eggshell mind and well being. Ya gotta watch out that Satan isn't behind it too...that pesky crafty bugger. But in the end it's really a personal, spiritual decision to be responsible for moving in the direction of Peace...

If you like it loud like most hard rockers, you will become hearing impaired and when you get older it will get worse even after you stop listening to it. In many cases the ears start ringing off and on and later in life the ringing never goes away.

Yes, and some of the lyrics, if you listen to them in your sleep, will go to your subconscious, and you start acting it out. Like subliminals.
