He may be having an allergic reaction to flea/tick bites. he may also have dry skin or some sort of other skin parasite.

Your best bet is to take him to a vet who will most likely give him Prednisone (a strong steroid to counteract inflammation), and an antibiotic. More importantly, he will do a skin scrape (not painful at all) to see the exact cause so that this does not repeat itself. Good luck!

You need to take him to the vet. We used to have a dog that was allergic to fleas and would do this any time she got a single flea bite. The vet had to give her cortison shots. Anyway, the vet can determine why this happened and stop him from doing further damage.

My dog does that too and it's allergies. He should see the vet to rule out different things. It could be a number of things. Allergies to food, enviroment, fleas, he could have a type of mite or it could be a nervous habit. Bring him to the vet.

i took mine to the vet and the Dr. said he suffered from seperation anxiety. Mine was put on mood blockers however i could not stand to see him in a zambie state and eventually had the tail removed. i would take him to the vet and monitor him closely. sounds crasy but these little guys have emotins too.

Could be fleas or worms. Could also be stress or nerves (as mentioned above). Suggest the vet to check it out.
