I'd say that Mormons are no different from others in this respect. He may really like you, and he may just want to be friends, or he may not know what he wants. It is hard to tell.
I'd advise you to be his friend. Go to his church and see how you like it. Ask him what you have to do to get the missionaries to teach you about his church. If, after awhile he does really like you he will let you know.

Mormons won't bite. If he likes to spend time with you, and you notice he show interest in you.
Then it is a good guess he likes you.
And yes in today's world it is perfectly OK for the girl to make the first move.

Ya, I agree... ask him out on a date! I wasn't a member of the church when I met my now husband (who was)... we dated for over 2 years. I eventually converted (not because of him, it was for me) and now we've been married for 3 years! Why not... have fun!
