Pay the ticket, if you have only one ticket on your record you don't really need the traffic school. Yes you will have to go back to Virginia to challenge ticket. So just relax take some deep breaths pay it and forget it!
12 miles over is no big deal, if you had a 20 over then you might need to do some other things.

Pay the fine and go to traffic school; it's not worth fighting a ticket in your situation. Besides, points are not good on your driving record.

In the jurisdiction where I work the judge offers the opportunity to attend drivers school if you are a full time student. I believe you would have to hire a lawyer to represent you in virginia if you cannot attend. If you know an officer where you live you may have him contact the officer that gave you the citation, he may be able to get it dropped.

Pay the fine, but the violation will appear on your NJ record and you may be assessed points based on NJ's driving laws.

I think you can hire a Virginia Lawyer, and avoid having to go back to go to court there.

Pay the fine, that's it. Contesting it, may cost you additional charges and the time to be wasted. Just be carefull next time.
