"IF" Hinduism is actually older than most religions practiced today...how can any religion that came after Hinduism claim to be the true religion when the chances are that religion was a spin off of Hinduism? I am not saying I want to study Hinduism but it is malarkey for some religions to make claims to be the true religion and the religion is younger compared to Hinduism to me. Logically since I am a process in motion I should go with the one that is the oldest when the subject of god is the matter but I chose to just not follow either but respect them all even if the majority of them came after Hinduism.

well said. many people think that hinudism is polytheist, when it is monotheist. if people bothered to do any research, so many of the ridiculous misconceptions that we have in this world would be gone and this world would be a much nicer place.

I'm a Christian and even though Hinduism is older than Christianity I believe Christian is the right religion because is does the best job of answering questions like, Who am I? Where did I come from? What is my purpose? How do I decide right and wrong? & Where am I going? These are the questions that all religions or worldviews including atheism must answer.

Logically since all religions give different answers to these questions they can't all be right.

Any belief or a religion that assume that there is a middle tier between God and Mankind is wrong.

If there is a religion that admits direct access to God, why to follow another model that makes anything has control over us.

Finally, Oldest is a relative measure and certinally it is not Adam religion because there were no other Mankind. So is it older than Adam!!

You're forgetting the Native Americans and the Aborigines. How about them?

I don't have to defend myself because my imaginary friends are better than someone elses.

There may be underlying truths in religion, and I respect others' cultures and enjoy studying them. But I also think all of it is rather childish. You get your religion out of a box and there's going to be a lot of things that don't add up in your realm of experience. Spirituality is finding what sits right with YOU.

Truth be known, the constallation of religions commonly known as 'Hinduism' is only a little over 5,000 years old - which puts in in the same neighborhood as Judaism and Zoroastrianism. I think what you're looking for is called 'Vaidik Dharm' - the Path of Wisdom. It is the origin of all the rest. Check out my profile or visit my blog if you want more information...

Nothing makes it wrong, or any religion for that matter...just a matter of what you believe. You can choose to follow Hinduism or any other religion. You have free will...use it :)

I don't personally feel that any religion is "wrong." I just don't feel that any of them are totally right. I do think that everyone has the right to believe (or not believe) in anyway they choose. I have respect for all religions, and for the people who practice (or not) the way they want to.

NO one religion is bettter than another. In their own ways all religions are very similar and teach much of the same ideas. Just in different ways.

i dont know. from what i understand of hinduism they really have only one god but that one god is given different aspects. so its a bit too polytheistic to be considered godly because you are supposed to be a strict monotheist. but its really a judgement call. islam is a godly religion, since it is definitely strictly monotheist.
