No, getting a degree doesn't require your employer to pay you more (especially at a restaurant).

You might, however, become eligible to work somewhere else where your degree will be used, most likely at a higher wage than $7.60.

It's not likely that in your current line of work any degree would help you out-it is what it is. I have two bachelor's degrees, a master's degree and several professional certifications and if I were to take a job as a server, that's all I would be and that's all I would get paid for. There is no law that says that you must be paid more because you have an Associate's degree. Sorry. If you are looking for a more rewarding career then you need to change jobs.

Employers are not obligated to pay you more for getting a degree. It may make you eligible for higher paying jobs. Although some employers might promote you for having attained the degree, but they don't have to. It's up to the employer.

No, they do not. It might be slightly attractive to a future employee, but it is not something that would automatically give you a raise by law. It's sort of like a degree saying you went halfway through college. If you get a college degree, that will open up a whole new world, and it's only two more years so go for it.

If they hired you before you got the dregree, and the degree doesn't help you in YOUR JOB as it is now, then no. they do not have to do anything.

If your field was, say, computers, then I would expect to be paid more for the knowledge I accumulated. Even so, it isn't always the case.

No offense, but perhaps if you brushed up on your lingual and writing skills, it would impress your employer more than just a piece of paper.

Depends what you do in the resteraunt, but for that type of employment (service industry) they do not need to pay you more just because you have a degree. It is their choice whether to or not, depending on how vital you are to the establishment.

Nope - not unless your education deals with making you a better worker in his restaurant. My suggestion is to go for your BA or BS degree and get a better job.
