There has been alot of talk since the war started, about pulling our troops out of Iraq. I dont agree with this because why go to war with the intention of pulling out? I dont think the american people that have lost their family members in Iraq would agree with that either because if we pulled out then they lost their family members for nothing and it was a waste of our time and the lives of our soldiers. We should stay in Iraq until our job is finished and do what we came there to do. For the sake of the Iraqi civilians and for our fallen soldiers that fought so hard. What is your opinion?

I hear some people say if we pull the troops out of Iraq their death and sacrifices would be for nothing. This could not be further from the truth! People who serve in the military and end up giving the ultimate price are in my mind doing the highest honor. It doesn't matter whether you agree with what they're doing or who sent them. It's their job and a lot of soldiers will tell you they don't always blindly agree with their leaders. We cannot keep our troops fighting and dying in Iraq, as well as Iraqi civilians just so it will be meaningful. It already is and we can best honor that by bringing the rest home as soon as possible. Just my opinion.

OK its called the war against terrorism not the war against the people who bombed the twin towers. The twin towers just contributed to us starting the war against terrorism.

Its well know Iraq was a safe harbour for terrorist. Wether or not Saddam helped them in any way is a different story. But he was still a bady guy so why not take care of him while we were in? They talk about about the death's of troops then the captures and deaths of actual terrorist and supporters of them. We are doing a better job then the media makes you believe.

Although I agree we should not have invade the way we did there is no reason to up and leave. Nobody has ever had the balls to fight terrorism. People say terrorism will always be around but nobody has tried to at least supress it greatly.

America is doing that. Everyone even the liberal ******* should be proud there are men and women doing it!

THe war on Iraq.

winning the war?

can it be won right now, there is an Iraqi civil war going on. i am not sure it can be won.

do we take a side or leave?

victory for me would have been using iraqis to rebuild thier country giving them jobs and education. but we failed to stablize the country for two years now we got what we got.....

1) Pass a resolution we will withdrawl is the first step.
Why first.....because it is not clear that there is a desire to ever leave. We closed the Bin Sultan Airbase.
We now are left with the need of a strategic foothold in the region....Might as well be Iraq....13 bases a super embassy bigger than the vatican and counting...

2) Determine what role the United states will have in the Iraqi civil war.

Very important question, why?
Becaue once we decide we are going to leave, we next have to decide what role to have in the war for power amongst the Iraqi themselves.
Remember the security issue with Al Queda is completely diffrent issue than the power grab between Iraqi factions.

If we decide that we should not interfere with thier civil war then we begin to pull out troop within a
either
a) a time frame based on Iraqi achievement meaning
having enough trained troops, police, infrastructure, shcools, government, elections

or
b) a strict time frame of our choosing, suggesting that they are on their own, and that whatever government WE establish will be replaced by the will of the people. We desinate a couple of years and pull out gradually. or whatever time line is most sensible.

If we decide to take a side in the Iraqi civil war we must then not only back and arm one side but offer intellgence and training.
We can pull out troops and fund monteralliy our choosen side and give them US weapons.....this has backfired inthe past.

3) To win correctly......

a) Pour more troops into the region, more troops to secure the borders,
create real securtiy

b) Elect a new congress to investigate

war profiteering....

and elect a new adminstration.

c) after a gradual withdrawl of troops Use the UN and nieghboring countries to form a coalition as in Kosevo

d) Create jobs in Iraq, giving
the people the opportunity to eat..

e) Create stability...

In the end there have always been sworn enemies.
We have prevailed through law, by remaining a nation of laws, not a nation of panic and give the president all the power he wants, not the power he should have. We have always had enimies....ones we create and the ones we are creating.

Now it is battle of minds,

the terrorist want you to be afraid......stay scared.

but so does the Republican Party, they want you more scared, it is the only reason you need them.

Don't be scared you don't to have to fear, you don't need the republican party either.

Because the factual and strategic situation now is utterly different than it was when the invasion first took place.

The original plan was to go in, depose Saddam, check for WMDs. Done. That's over. "Mission Accomplished".

What are will still doing there years later? It has nothing to do with deposing Saddam. That's done. So, there must be some other mission, some other plan, some other objective.

OK. So, if it's a different mission with a different plan, don't you think people might come to a different conclusion?

If your house is on fire, and somone has already died, do you stay in to bury the body and lose more lives? Or do you get out the burning building, save as many lives as you can, and then make intelligent decisions based on the current situation?

I think these people are stupid!

All of them say the same thing..."We should pull out, there is no reason to be there, oil, they didn't bomb the us..blah blah blah blah.

They act like if they know everything, i'm joining the Army for one reason, to serve my country and i am willing to go to Iraq. And for those people who say Iraq didn't bomb us, we know that, we are just fighting in Iraq, we are cool with the iraqi people. We are fighting terrorist and if we don't get rid of them they will continue bombing us for as long as they want. I guess 9/11 wasn't a good enough lesson for you people, maybe it should happen again so u can all just shut up and leave the war alone, it's not like you are fighting anyways. We will win this War, we gotta think like this, saying negative stuff ain't gonna help, we gotta keep a positive mind.
WE WILL WIN BECAUSE THE US IS THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

I think that the troops should be pulled out, its turning into the new Vietnam! People just keep dying, and for what? To try to give Iraq a democracy and freedom? Why does America think that it is their responsibility to give them freedom? I do not believe that America nor any other country will be able to bring peace to Iraq. There are to many radicals and extremeists to try and get everyone to live in peace. So just admit that this war is BullShit and pull the troops out so they dont have to die for a RedNeck like Bush!

Your right to a degree and I agree with you. Except that the Job was finished. Originally it was intended to Depose Sadaam, neutralize his armed forces and remove WMDs. Thats done. The original mission IS OVER. But we remain. Why? Im not sure I know and Im not sure anyone in washington does either. We need a new set of objectives and a reassesment of just how much more oyr armed forces can actually acomplish there.

I am all for staying to finish the job. Either we take care of it over there or we will have them attacking us here. Too bad the press does not cover the good stuff going on over there.
