I looked like a chipmunk for about 1 week after. Lol. But I had a butcher for a dentist. He couldn't get all of them out the first time so he recommended an orthodontist. It also took him almost 2 hours to get two (2) of my 4 wisdom teeth pulled. Needless to say I was put to sleep the second time, and it only took him may be 40 minutes When I woke up I barely had any pain or the chipmunk look. Lol. I thought to myself, had I known that my first dentist was going to butcher me I would have gone to the orthodontist first and been put to sleep. Everyone is different. I've known quite a few people that had absolutely no problems getting their wisdom teeth pulled. My advice to you is...Talk to your dentist first and get as much information on it. Good luck!

I have had both done too. Braces were totally worse because the pain lasts for years! When you have your wisdom teeth pulled, they put you out. I have trouble staying under, and have had a history of waking up during surgeries and dental work, so I was scared. But I fell asleep quick and stayed that way. I woke up and it was all over. I only had 2 on one side, so it was easy for me to continue chewing normally, but really it was no big deal. And considering how much I hate dentists, that says a lot. You get this little syringe with a soft tip to squirt water in the canal to clean it out (which doesn't hurt) and it heals fast. It's been one year, and the holes are totally grown over now. I don't know how much it costs because mine was free since I was in the military.

I had all four pulled on a Friday, by that Monday I was well enough to return to school. My mouth was tender and sore only for the weekend but sometimes a few years after that, I'd still have tenderness in the gums where they were extracted. Get a good orthodontist and you won't have any major problems or pain. Mines took out all four in 30 minutes, the anesthesia took me out in about 3 seconds.

I had both my bottom ones pulled, hurt for a couple days. One a little longer than the other because one of them needed oral surgery.

It doesn't hurt for too long, it's just an annoyance because you have to watch what AND how you eat and you always have to rinse with salt water.

Ouch yes. It doesn't hurt during cuz they put you in a twilight state but the next few days it does even with the pain meds they give you. The good thing is you sleep through most of it because the meds make you really sleepy. Good Luck.

It will hurt you for about a week after you have them pulled. If you have to have oral surgery it hurts longer than a week and the swelling takes about a week to go down.

i had all four pulled at the same time. i had only minor pain for a couple days and they healed quickly. just follow your doctor's orders to avoid getting dry socket. from what i've heard that's very painful. i was very happy to get rid of them cuz one had previously gotten infected and that was excruciatingly painful.

I had all four removed at one time and I had tenderness for 2 days (mine were all exposed). But when my brother had his removed he had a LOT of pain (his were impacted). So it just depends on your pain threshold and whether or not they are impacted.
