Add a cup of white vinegar to a few inches of soapy water in the kitchen sink and soak if they ever get to smelling or you think they should be cleaned. Vinegar is effective in getting rid of mold and is a safe cleaning product to use around children and on their toys. Maybe sometime after the bath, if you are worried about water sitting in the ducks, you can put them in a pillowcase and toss them in the drier for a little bit? Good luck!

Regular household bleach does not kill mold it only bleaches it so you can't see it. You need to have a bleach with a chlorine concentration of 12% to effectively kill the mold. I know this because I asked the local janitorial supply store about the mold that grows on the tile in my bathroom, and that's what came from him. I don't think it was much more expensive than buying Clorox. I used it on my tub and tile 6 months ago, and still don't have any mold. Where as with Clorox, I'd have had to scrub it 3 more times by now.
Since it's a lot higher concentration, I would suggest getting some type of syringe or a turkey baster, even an old eye dropper and putting the diluted bleach inside the duckies. Then make sure you rinse them out at least a half dozen times. Cold water works more effectively with bleach rather than hot water. Weird I know, but true.
I wouldn't stick them in the dishwasher as all the water won't be able to escape out of that little bitty hole in the bottom of the ducky, and if you've ever had a cup tip over and fill up in the dishwasher, you know what that water looks like. Yuck! Hope that helps. =)

I'm not sure it completely removes the mold because I can't see in there, but I fill the tub with bleach water and let all the tub toys soak once a week. I squeeze them so the bleach water goes inside and let the msoak fora bout a half hour. Then I thoroughly rinse them well and squessz out the bleach water and rinse the inside a few times.

using about 3 to 4 cups of bleach and a full sink of water soak the tub toys for about half an hour and make sure you squeeze them a few times to get the water in the toys and then squeeze them again to get the water out. then i would run them through the dishwasher after the first time through they might still smell like bleach so you might want to run them through the dishwasher one more time. i did that with my daughters tub toys and it seemed to do the trick!

Soak them in water heavily concentrated with bleach. It will kill the mold and disinfect them at the same time. You might have to soak them several times (I did this too) but it will eventually get it all out. Hope that helps.

Try tossing them in the washing machine with some bleach that will kill the mold and sanitize them. Or even better run them through the diswasher.

Maybe you could use a syringe and feel it with bleach or lysol so that way you could inject it into that tiny hole and then when your done just squeeze the cleaner out when your done.
