It's one one the central tenets of Christianity: mass murder is more acceptable than rudeness. :-p
We can still see this sort of thing today. In the popular imagination, most criminals are castigated. However, the myth of the charming rogue is still strong, e.g. Raffles, the gentleman catburglar. "He may have stolen all of my jewels, but at least he never called my dead husband a slaphead."

God did not do that because such a god does not exist. Like much of the bible is is just something made up for effect

Interesting..... i do love that story. I cannot tell you why, but i think you should ask him when you see him.
Best not test the theory though, 'the Lord works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform.'

Only page I've looked at in the old testament, god was threatening to poke a Person's eyes out for not taking him as superior. Bit like a godfather.
