i'm the only black girl in my school, so i've got to make a good impression. Lots of people have never seen a black person since me, so lots of them haven't seen a person in braids. I like my hair in braids, and i guess i do care abit about people think about me, (like, if they make fun of my hair and think i cant see that they are)... i just like to look good and make a good impression!

I don't know where you are at that they haven't seen a black person or a girl in braids, but I definitely do not see anything weird about a black girl in braids. I'm sure you'll make a fine impression, just be yourself (don't try too hard, that almost always never works!)

The BEST impression you can make is being yourself...if you love braids, then, by all means, wear them and kindly educate the people who have questions about them. You can make a lot of new friends if you're open to both teaching and learning diversity... don't worry about what others think of you, worry about how you perceive yourself, it makes all the difference in the world! Well I am a white gal and I love how you guys do your braids..and the twisties and the box braids:D
I wanna try them out except I don't know how to do them lol.
I think you should do them but not the first day..Just do a normal ponytail if ur hair is frizzy. If its wavy/straight, kinda like Tyra Banks (lol) then don't put anything in it let ur hair be w/out scrunchies:D
Then do the braids. But change your brad stlye alot:D

Braids look pretty on us black girls. Once I had a white boyfriend who liked me in braids so bad that he paid for them to get done!!!!! Go ahead! Show your braids! Be bold! Be different! Be proud!

Okay first off Texas Cowboy is fine AS HELL!!!! I'm in Texas baby holla at me!!! Now on to you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Wear your braids with pride honey!! That is one of the things that make us who we are. Our ability to change our hair with the rising of the sun child!! Just tell them all this is your style and it's quite common in our community and if they don't like it, to hell with them baby girl. Be beautiful!!!
p.s. watch how many white girls ask can you braid their hair!!!
